mitten love

I love knitting sweaters, but I also love little carry-along projects like hats, socks and mittens.  I used to knit new mittens each year for the kids.  Here’s what the boys might get this year:IMG_0926

These unisex convertible mitts are from Interweave Knits Gifts 2015.  Class starts tomorrow if you’re interested–or just come pick up the pattern and the yarn and start making!

Here is a article from Megan, the pattern’s designer about her inspiration.

Starflower-Mittens-1024x683In November we’re offering these Starflower mittens as a class.  This pattern is also in the Gifts 2015 magazine.  I fell in love with the colors and I love knitting Fair Isle.  Luckily we already had the exact Plymouth Gina and Galway called for in the pattern!  You can read more about them here on Knitting Daily.

Both pairs of mittens are full of new techniques.  Lots to learn in a small, quick-to-finish project!

Someone told me about these Advent mittens on Ravelry. So cute!!  I was going to start these for next year until I stumbled upon this!!  Oh my!  This is my next “little” project!

Come knit with us!
